Built 1874 by Eduard Titz as Stadttheater for the city of Guben. Opened 1 October 1874 with Goethe's Faust. Ca. 800 seats. Destroyed by fire on 23 Sep 1945. - [In 1945, the Schützeninsel island in the river Neisse/Nysa became part of the Polish city of Gubin. Part of the theatre ruin serves as a monument.] (English)
