* if the document or source already exists in the database &lt;br /&gt;
* if the author of the new entry already axists (if not, make first)&lt;br /&gt;

* if the language exists (if not, make first)&lt;br /&gt;

next make a new item&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
* click new item&lt;br /&gt;
* enter the exact name of the book and a short description and save&lt;br /&gt;
* enter type of information (document or source or both) and add qualifier &amp;quot;type of document&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;
* enter the field, time frame and importance&lt;br /&gt;

next, enter as much of the fields below as possible or appropriate&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
* author (P41) (refers to existing items in the database)&lt;br /&gt;
* publisher (P62) (refers to existing items in the database)&lt;br /&gt;
* publication date (P40)&lt;br /&gt;
* language (P35) &lt;br /&gt;
* Copyright (P72) (copyright of the original document)&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
* Copy available online (P37)(link to a copy of the document that is available online)&lt;br /&gt;
* Source URL (P64) (link, in case of a website)&lt;br /&gt;
* Internal image (P24) (for example the cover of a book, upload file first)&lt;br /&gt;
* Backup document (P74) (if you have or made a backup document, or if it is a unique document you want to share, upload first)&lt;br /&gt;
** Copyright (P72) as qualifier if you want to make the document only available to loged in users, or if the use is limited (see Help:List copyright)&lt;br /&gt;

*  mentions (P78) (refers to existing items in the database)&lt;br /&gt;
** Page in the source (P25) as qualifier, specifies the place in the document where the reference is.&lt;br /&gt;

* Wikidata source (P16) (check if the book exists in https://www.wikidata.org &lt;br /&gt;
* ISBN (P28) &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

* Note (P44) (you can add a note to the item or to any property as a qualifier, to mention needed additions or to question the content)&lt;br /&gt;
